Hi, I’m Charlotte, creator of girlnextdoorfashion.

I’m a 20 year old British student from Stockport, just outside of Manchester ( proud northerner) studying English and American Studies at the University of Birmingham. I love literature, music, food, fashion, and buying nail varnishes.

Fashion for me started out as just picking out clothes everyday, until I started to realise that the fact I loved to shop could actually mean something. I’ve always enjoyed shopping, creating outfits, finding new things, but I’ve realised recently the pleasure in creating outfits from things I already own. As a student I appreciate clothing that isn’t overly expensive, but at the same time I don’t advocate throwaway fashion. I just think on a limited budget there are great things on the high street that can make you feel as fabulous as designer numbers.

My style is constantly evolving- which costs me a lot!! I have bright pink, blonde and black hair which I’ve had since I was 16, so my punk-rock style of my early teens has never really left me. I’m a sucker for studs and leather. But I also love pretty dresses and gorgeous skirts- I don’t own anything longer than mid thigh!!

I love writing about fashion but I also love  to write about life, literature and culture. This isn’t just a fashion blog. This is part of me.

Fashion is not my life. I think fashion should be fun. And I’m going to enjoy writing this blog. And I hope you enjoy reading it too.
